Acton, MA (PRWEB) February 1, 2007

Kenswineguide.com, an independent wine review site, announced today its recommended wines for Valentine’s Day Dinner. If you are popping the question or celebrating with your sweetheart on Valentine’s Day, you want a perfect bottle of wine.

Wine buyers can be inundated with choices dining out at a restaurant or selecting a bottle to enjoy during a romantic dinner at home. Ken’s Valentine’s Day Wine List lets buyers select highly rated wines at different price levels without having to worry about bias from wine sellers. Novices and enthusiasts alike will find excellent wines at value prices with a quick and easy wine shopping list.

“Valentine’s Day is a special day and wine lovers expect to spend a little more on wine than usual to accompany their romantic dinner and to enhance the mood. Valentine’s Day dinner is not only about great food, but also about romance, ambiance, and impressing your sweetheart. Our Valentine’s Day Wine List helps people buy a food friendly bottle of wine, either off the wine list at a restaurant or for a terrific dinner at home,” according to Ken Hoggins, Kenswineguide.com founder.

Ken’s Valentine’s Day wine recommendations include choices to complement many of the most popular Valentine’s Day dinners including, salmon, steak, lamb, oysters, and chocolate desserts. “If you plan to pop the question, consider a ros? sparkling wine to go with the roses you give your sweetheart. The Roederer Estate Non Vintage ‘Brut Ros?’ from Anderson Valley, CA is an excellent choice,” says Ken. To view Ken’s recommended Valentine’s Day wines and champagnes, go to Kenswineguide.com and click on Wines For Valentine’s Day Dinner.

Ken’s Wine Guide Recommends Wines For Valentine’s Day Dinner

Oysters – A known aphrodisiac and ideal for setting the mood. Ken recommends a tangy and acidic wine like Kim Crawford’s 2006 Sauvignon Blanc, $ 17.

Halibut or Tilapia – These mild fish call for a light Italian white wine. Ken suggests the 2005 Argiolas “Costamolino,” $ 15. It is a dry Vermentino from Sardinia.

Salmon with Herb Butter – This dish calls for a Pinot Noir or a Chardonnay. Ken recommends the 2003 Robert Stemmler “Carneros Estate” Pinot Noir, $ 36, or the 2004 Kendall Jackson “Camelot Highlands” Chardonnay, $ 28.

Chicken Marsala – Consider a Beaujolais from George Duboeuf. His 2005 Ch?teau de Nervers, $ 13, from Brouilly would be a great match.

Lamb Chops – Ken likes the 2004 Terrazas de los Andes “Reserva” Malbec, $ 16. This wine will go nicely with the mint jelly and the lamb chops.

Pan Seared T-Bone Steak – Grilled steak calls for a Syrah. Ken recommends the 2003 E. Guigal “Crozes-Hermitage,” $ 22.

Chocolate Mousse or Truffles – Try a couple of sweet wines. For a white dessert wine, Ken recommends the 2003 Macari “Block E” from Long Island, $ 36. With chocolate, Ken’s favorite is the 2003 Dry Creek “Late Harvest” Zinfandel, $ 30. If you prefer champagne or sparkling wine with your chocolate, try Charles Heisieck “Brut-Reserve,” $ 38, or Roederer Estate Non Vintage “Brut Ros?”, $ 26.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) April 6, 2011

Main Street Marketing Machines offers local businesses alternatives to deeply discounted ?Daily Deals.? Main Street captures customers by increasing search engine rankings through automation. (lead)

Main Street Marketing Machines broke new ground in providing work at home solutions about this time last April with the debut of its local search marketing automation service.

?Since then, tens of thousands of local businesses have seen significant increases in new customers sent to them through Google Places and other online referrals,? says Roland Frasier, CEO of Done For You Marketing, a local search firm in San Diego, California.

Extending that inaugural service, founder Mike Koenigs is launching the newest iteration of what local businesses now refer to affectionately as ?MSMM? in the form of Main Street Marketing Machines 2.

?As local marketing continues to gain traction with Google and Facebook,? Frasier continues, ?newer companies like Groupon, LivingSocial and Main Street Marketing Machines continue to focus on narrower niches in the market offering very specialized services.?

Some services aggregate customers until a minimum number is reached and then make a very attractive offer (such as 50% off) available to the entire group. Others provide local search optimization services to push Google Places listings to the top of search engine results.

Local Deal Offerings Boon To Consumers

?Businesses localize offerings in major cities all over the USA intending to combine consumer buying power into marketable ?chunks? of commerce,? says Dawn Allred, CEO of local search firm All Channels Media.

?These chunks of commerce can be sold to local businesses desperate for any new strategies to survive the current economic crisis,? Allred said.

These chunks are the new currency in the Internet marketing arena, and you can expect to see more and more entrants coming into this extremely lucrative market.

That means only good things for consumers as these companies, many vying to become the next Facebook, will be well-funded and ready for cutthroat pricing.

The clear winners as these companies fight it out to see who will be the consumers whose buying power will increase despite the continuing decline of the dollar.

Local businesses will also win with a viable weapon to wield against their huge ?big box? competitors with seemingly limitless ad budgets.

Coupons 2.0

While coupons with expiration dates have been around as long as print advertising itself, the new trick for this old dog is shrinking the expiration date period to the same day the coupon is made available.

With the ability to instantly distribute Internet coupons, businesses can now do what was before impossible ? they can issue a coupon based on drawing the customers that they need most targeted to purchase the thing the businesses want to sell most.

For example, a restaurant with an overstock of salmon can run a one day ?Salmon Special? coupon to draw patrons in for a half-off salmon dinner, thereby using the salmon before they have to throw it away.

Look for more and more local search deals, online competitors and increasingly niched offerings from local businesses and their online helpers as 2011 continues to unfold.

Mobile Coming On Strong In Local Search

Also, keep an eye out for even more local search developments in the mobile marketing space.

?Nearly 1.3 billion mobile users, 30% of the subscriber base are expected to utilize local mobile search services by 2013,? according to a new report from industry analysts, Juniper Research.

###

Anaheim, CA (PRWEB) May 27, 2011

Seafood lovers across the country, the wait is over because the annual wild salmon celebration is finally here. Anderson Seafoods, America?s most trusted seafood source for over 30 years, introduces fresh Copper River King Salmon to its online retail store for a limited time.

?If you are buying fresh seafood online, we should be your first and last source,? says Dennis Anderson, CEO and president at Anderson Seafoods. ?Copper River Salmon season began on May 16th and will run for approximately six weeks. So, make sure to get your order in today to enjoy this seasonal phenomenon. Great news! We also overnight all of our delicious products right to your front door.?

What makes Copper River Salmon so special? Because the Copper River Salmon’s journey is so long, they must store extra fat and oils in order to survive the trip. The river?s length and its strong, cold rapids challenge salmon that originate in these pristine waters. Consequently, Copper River Salmon are strong, robust creatures with a healthy store of natural oils and body fat. These qualities make the salmon among the richest, tastiest fish in the world. It is also makes them rich in Omega-3 oils, which are recommended by the American Heart Association.

?Copper River Salmon can be deliciously prepared in a variety of ways,? says Kelly Mullarney, corporate executive chef for Anderson Seafoods. ?Its flavor and texture holds up well to marinades and grilling, but its flavor is delicate and refined when served raw as sashimi. My favorite way to prepare Copper River Salmon is pan roasted in order to get a crispy skin and a nice crust on the salmon.?

As with all of its products, Anderson Seafoods hand-selects the Copper River Salmon at their state-of-the-art facility and packages it in an eco-friendly container designed to maintain its contents at or below 38?F. All of Anderson Seafood?s facilities are inspected by the United States Department of Commerce and are HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) approved, in order to ensure the highest quality seafood available.

Along with the offering of Copper River Salmon, Anderson Seafoods introduces its new Sand Dollars Rewards Club. An initial order of $ 150 will automatically qualify you for enrollment. For every dollar spent over the initial $ 150, you will be awarded one Sand Dollar, which can be used towards free entr?es and gift cards.

 150 Sand Dollars = 1 premium entr?e

300 Sand Dollars = 2 premium entr?es

*500 Sand Dollars = $ 25 gift card + 1 premium entr?e

*Customers may accumulate a maximum of 500 Sand Dollars in any given time period.

Follow this quick and easy to follow recipe, for a delicious salmon and potato dinner for the whole family.

Serves four

4 fresh salmon fillets

3 tablespoons sweet chilli sauce

Half an inch ginger, finely chopped

1 clove garlic, finely chopped

3 tablespoons soya sauce

Splash of lime

Combine the garlic, ginger, soya sauce, sweet chilli sauce and lime in a large bowl.

Add salmon fillets to the marinade, making sure that both sides of the salmon fillets are covered with the marinade.

Allow to marinade for 10-30 minutes, depending on how much time you have.

Place the salmon fillets on a non-stick oven tray, pouring the remaining marinade over them.

Bake in an oven for 15-20 minutes on 190°C or until the salmon is cooked all the way through (please note: cooking time will depend on the thickness and size of the fillets).

Serve with steamed broccoli and mange tout, and some potato chips, for a tasty family meal.

Benefits of fish

Fish has been well documented as a healthy mealtime option, especially in relation to its omeg-3 content. Most likely you have heard the talk of including fish in your diet, especially as more and more research points to its direct health benefits.

Salmon, with it’s high omega-3 content, is often one of the most recommended types of fish, and with the option of purchasing sustainably raised salmon, you can also help support the environment.

Salmon is also a great option for children, with its delicious taste. For those that have the time, you could even try and make salmon fishfingers as a healthier alternative to the frozen, packaged kind.

Salmon can be cooked in a variety of ways, from roasting with your favourite marinade, pan fried and garnished with a squeeze of lime, or roasted in tin foil with a pinch of salt and some dill.

Fish can be served with a low fat brand of oven chips or quality frozen food potato product for a delicious meal.

Bowling Green, KY (PRWEB) May 15, 2008

News today for the mom who wants to feed her family heart healthy snacks and meals without sacrificing flavor. Southern Delight Gourmet Foods is now shipping what could be the nation’s lowest sodium salsa, with only 5 mg. of sodium per 1 oz. serving and it’s Kosher, as well. Besides being a heart healthy snack food, the Southern Delight brand Savory Apple & Honey No-Salt-Added Salsa is also a quick recipe starter for easy and delicious family-friendly low sodium diet recipes.

You can easily make heart healthy, low sodium and family friendly recipes, such as Artichoke Tomato Sauce for spaghetti, Salsa-Smothered Chicken and tasty Salsa-Joe Sandwiches. Available in Mild, Medium and Hot, the Southern Delight brand Savory Apple & Honey No Salt Added Salsa gets its unique flavor from apples and honey, which makes it very versatile for cooking. “Since it’s now no salt added, it’s a great recipe starter for reduced sodium meals. We’ve replaced table salt with Zero Salt*, an all-natural salt substitute, to drastically reduce the sodium level,” said Bart Anderson, Southern Delight founder and regional low sodium and heart healthy TV cooking personality.

“America is facing the greatest health challenge in her history with 65 million Americans suffering from hypertension, and nearly 650,000 people dying annually due to heart disease and stroke. More Americans die each year from heart-related issues than any other reason, and consuming too much sodium is part of the problem,” according to Anderson.

“American families are simply using too much salt. Children and youth are affected as well. Experts say they are seeing an increased number of children and youth with high blood pressure. And some experts warn that we are facing an explosion of new cardiovascular disease cases in young adults and adults,” he added.

Anderson’s passion for no-salt-added low-sodium foods began years ago, when his Father-in-law, Robert H. Noffsinger, suffered from severe high blood pressure. To compensate, Anderson and his wife, Marilyn, simply learned to cook without using salt. And now that Marilyn is plagued with high blood pressure, it’s even more important for him to create additional low-sodium products that have great flavor with no added salt.

“By taking the salt out of our salsa, we quite possibly now have the only no salt added product line available. Shoppers can now be assured that if they buy Southern Delight branded products, they are getting no-salt-added, and we believe that’s very important and comforting to those who want or need to reduce their sodium consumption.” he said.

“It’s time for American families to overhaul their eating habits. If you want to improve the quality of your family’s health, you simply must start cooking many of your meals from scratch at home, using low sodium foods. And we don’t mean popping pre-prepared convenience foods in the microwave,” he added.

“Cooking heart healthy meals at home doesn’t have to be time consuming and difficult, though. People can reduce the sodium in their soups by as much as 80 percent, by making easy homemade soups. But you need to pay very close attention to the nutrition facts and the serving size of the ingredients that you buy.” Anderson added.

“Since many ingredients already contain salt, we recommend that families stop adding salt during cooking and remove the salt shaker from the kitchen table, switching to herbs, spices, citrus and other salt substitutes. Reducing your family’s sodium intake to a healthy level requires that you become very diligent in reading nutrition facts panels and paying close attention to the reported serving sizes, plus just saying no to salt,” he emphasized.

“High blood pressure is a modern day epidemic, and we know that by eliminating salt as an ingredient at the processing stage, we can help families dramatically reduce their sodium intake. Moving your family to a low sodium diet is very important. Many consumers have told us that they eat an entire jar of salsa at one sitting – by themselves. Our new product contains only 60 mg. of sodium for an entire jar, compared to 2000 mg. to well over 3000 mg. for many of the national brands.” Bart said.

Southern Delight produces additional no salt added products, including no-salt-added barbecue sauces and marinades (flavors include Smoky Pecan Peppercorn, Sweet Bacon & Spice, Mint Julep, and Classic Sweet & Spicy), and seasoning blends including Classic Garlic & Mustard, and Basil & Oregano Italian. Their products can be found at regional grocery store chains, gourmet shops and also via their on-line store.

Your health is a reflection of your lifestyle. When you have a lifestyle that balances your body and mind good health and a slim and trim physique is a natural and obvious off shoot. Tips for a healthy lifestyle change will guide you well towards a better life. You need to work on your lifestyle and this takes efforts and time. You will get early results and is thus the easiest way to lose weight. It also maintains your weight and delays aging. Your physical and mental health is vital for a complete good health.

There are many reasons why people end up overweight. It is due to metabolism rate, it impacts your weight loss program. People with low metabolism find it tough to lose weight as due to the slow metabolism, they store fat in their body.

While there are others who have hormonal imbalances, but one major reason for weight gain is unhealthy eating habits and less exercise.

Some tips towards fast weight loss:

Don’t push and punish:

Take a break once a week. If you start disliking your diet then you need to pause and think again. Find a diet that suits your lifestyle and body type.

Read labels between lines:

Food and drinks in the store attract you and scream “buy me!” It can be fat free as claimed on the label but could still add to the calories. See the nutrition label. See the labels on the sodas. Find what is good for you. Stay away from calorie enriched products. While you shop for groceries, avoid cookies, frozen foods like pizzas, ice creams.

Maintain notes:

Document what you eat. This is the only way you can keep a watch and assess your eating habits at the end of every week. If you are tech savvy then maintain a weight loss blog. Share this journal with your dietician to get some more tips and guidance.

Water

No, you should not fill your stomach with a lot of water, but ensure that you drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water every day. Juice cannot be a substitute for water. Your body should be hydrated. Your kidneys need to flush out the waste and it is possible only when you drink an adequate amount of water. With proper water intake your body metabolizes fat more effectively. When you have a glass of water every 10-15 minutes prior to your meal you will be full before you eat. This helps digest food properly.

Eat less more times:

Start with breakfast. The more you eat for breakfast the less you will eat for dinner. Do not skip meals. Eat 5 meals a day; eat sensible and low calorie snacks. Do not let your body crave for food. This is the fastest weight loss diet and tip.

Exercise

Exercise is vital for weight loss. Work with weights and build muscles and your metabolism rate will increase.

Palette of dark color:

Naturally we find blue, black and purple foods less attractive. So keep your plate full with dark colored food.

Weight loss with green tea:

Green tea spurs your metabolism rate. It aids in burning fats. Green tea reduces your appetite. Rise and shine with green tea, have green tea instead of mocha. Your waistline will slim down within weeks. Green tea is great for those who crave to lose weight. Without a rigid diet regime green tea is a healthy way to lose weight.

(PRWEB) October 4, 2004 -

Negative calorie foods are said to use more calories to digest than the calorie content of the foods themselves, resulting in a negative calorie balance. It is therefore natural to consider a diet containing these foods for weight loss.

A diet is a combination of a balanced selection of foods designed for medical or nutritional reasons. A good diet should include all major food groups. The weight loss diets (with or without negative calorie foods) are made to reduce body fat and weight.

Following is a sample daily diet plan that is good for keeping healthy weight and good health, irrespective of whether you follow a diet plan with negative calorie foods or not.

Skim milk and skim yogurt

Salads or boiled vegetables or vegetable soup as starter.

Whole-wheat bread/tortila, whole grain cereal and rice.

Whole grains like kidney beans, chick peas and lentils.

Lightly cooked green vegetables.

Any dessert with minimum sugar.

Lean variety of meat (it is better to avoid).

The dinner should be light. If you had bread for lunch then have rice for dinner.

Include as much negative calorie foods as possible in the above diet plan. If you are meat eater, choose from a lean variety and restrict to one serving in a day.

A diet with negative calorie foods as main ingredients can include foods that are loaded with carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, minerals and dietary fibers necessary for keeping you fit. The diet with negative calorie foods can be tailored for fast or gradual weight loss. The fast weight loss diet that can lower the weight up to two pounds per day, is not recommended for long term. The gradual weight loss diet can reduce one pound in a week and can be followed until desired weight is achieved. The diet can be made according to ones needs. The negative calorie foods will not give you much benefit if you are eating foods loaded with fats and sugars.

If you eat a serving of potato fries, don’t think that you can reduce the calories gained from fries by simply eating some negative calorie celery. More details can be found at http://www.NegativeCalorieFoods.com

Challenged by your own or your kids’ unhealthy eating habits? Green smoothies could be your new best friend.

The positive impacts of the green smoothie craze sweeping my family and friends are as welcome as they are surprising. Unhealthy eating habits are being displaced by a new addiction; green smoothie health!

Case study 1: My friend Elise, who is getting in shape for a wedding, needed to drop her morning coffee and muffins routine. Green smoothies won’t just help her shed unwanted weight; they’ll add a clear glow to her skin and a sparkle to her eyes. She’s motivated by her short term goal (looking great at this wedding) to replace her coffee and muffins with fresh green smoothies for a month or so. The advantage for Elise is that this goal gives her a finite timeframe for sticking with green smoothies. Habits take 4-6 weeks to form, so by the time she’s actually reached the wedding deadline, she’ll have a new, healthier green smoothie habit.

Case study 2: My 18 month old son can’t be tempted to eat up his little trees (broccoli) like a baby giraffe. Snowpeas are chewed up and spat out. Although he refuses to eat cooked green vegetables at dinner time, he is willing to DRINK raw greens for BREAKFAST in a green smoothie. The sweetness of the 60% ripe fruit tempts him to drink up the 40% greens that go with it. The novelty of a straw also helps…

Case study 3: My friend Chris is the last person you’d expect to experiment with anything rumoured to be healthy. He’s more likely to resist healthy eating habits BECAUSE they’re healthy, priding himself in his preference for beer and 100% fatty barbequed pork ribs. However, a miracle has occurred now that he’s given green smoothies a go. He’ll only drink one combination so far, baby spinach, rockmelon and bananas, but he drinks it every day. When I asked him what convinced him to try green smoothies he said, “You made me look at your website.” Nice. The rest of his diet hasn’t changed much, although he tells me he hasn’t eaten Maccas since his green smoothie habit started three weeks ago. At least his body is getting a significant nutrition boost and his family is feeling very happy that his diet is improving.

So, before you despair of yourself and give up on your health goals, give green smoothies a test run for a month. You might surprise yourself.
