Obesity recently has overtaken the U.S. educational system as two-thirds of adults in the U.S. are overweight and at least one-third are considered to be obese.</p>
<p>Healthy eating habits begin even before kids learn how to choose their own food. Young children adopt their eating habits from their parents. As you may know, the little ones are very observant. When they see their mom preparing something in the kitchen, they visualize it and make a dialogue with their imaginary friend.</p>
<p>One of the biggest weight gain perpetrators is high sugar drinks, energy drinks and fruit juices. Instead, try to promote water as an alternative to these high calorie beverages. Not only is water calorie free, but it flushes out harmful toxins and rejuvenates the body.</p>
<p>Lemon juice (unsweetened) is a stimulating and expansive drink. It is an instant wake up drink for lazy mornings and a natural, internal body cleanser. Cultivate a healthy eating habit of drinking a glass of lemon juice after a high carbohydrate meal. The lemon juice slows down the digestion of high carbohydrates in meals and reduces blood sugar spikes, a major cause for overeating and weight gain.</p>
<p>Avoid Fast Food Restaurants early in the process. Taking small steps in the direction of a healthier lifestyle could be as simple as learning to make simple healthy meals at home rather than going to the fast food restaurant. If we do go out to eat, we can make healthier choices from the menu.</p>
<p>Healthy eating doesn&#8217;t only have a great effect on weight loss, but also on your over all body health. Eating right gives your whole body the nutrition it needs to grow and live life. I know with me, shortly after I started eating right, my energy level increased along with my daily endurance. It was like my body was thanking me for my new healthy eating habit. Give eating healthy a chance, your body will love you for it.</p>
<p>Nutrition is needed to supply our bodies with life sustaining nutrients. First we take in the food that contains the nutrients. Then your body begins to break down the food. Lastly the body sends the nutrients through the bloodstream to all of the various tissues that need them. Since it is through nutrition that we supply our bodies with life-sustaining nutrients it makes sense that those nutrients should be from healthy foods.</p>
<p>Healthy eating habits for acne free skin should include vegetables and fruits. But you should avoid those starchy ones as these may contain high glycemic index like potatoes and very sweet fruits. Grapefruit, apples, green leafy vegetables and citrus fruits are good choices.</p>
<p>Finally, add fresh fruits and plenty of green vegetables to your diet. Both will help you visit the bathroom on a regular basis and will give you the necessary energy kick you need to cope with your usual daily routine. Remember to follow the advice listed here and you will soon experience the outcomes of developing a healthy nutritional plan as you will feel less tired and much more energetic every single day of the week.</p>

For different reasons restaurants provide some sort of convenience for your; entertaining clients, maintaining an upbeat lifestyle. Even if you don&#8217;t eat out, to maintain the body you want, restaurants provide many barriers you must overcome. In fact, while traveling many people gain weight because they eat out to much.</p>
<p>In this article you&#8217;ll find helpful tips to follow in order to keep a fit body and eat healthy (or at least healthier) at restaurants. </p>
<p>Now, the 3 most significant things to avoid at restaurants are the following:</p>
<p>Starchy refined foods<br />Any sugary juices, sodas, or sugary foods. <br />Deep fried foods! (These are killing your body)</p>
<p>Avoiding these will go a long way in helping you choose a healthy menu. Refined vegetable oils, refined starchy carbohydrates, processed sugars, and trans fats are the worst sources of food that damage your body.</p>
<p>Any pre-meal bread or french fries that come with any meal, and any extra portions of meals that you don&#8217;t need should all be avoided!</p>
<p>Most restaurants offer sides such as vegetables, salads and other healthy choices in place of the usually french fries or breads, these are your best choices. If not, simply ask and they&#8217;ll be more than happy to give you something other than the fatty unhealthy foods. </p>
<p>Ironically enough, the people that splurge in the fries and fatty food at restaurants are the people that whine and complain abut not being able to lose weight and trying everything possible. Maybe if they tried cutting these 2 things out of there diet they&#8217;d have much more success! &#8220;I&#8217;m living life, doing what I want&#8221; is a typical response when asking why people decide to poison themselves with these foods. Personally I don&#8217;t understand why slowly killing your body internally is any reasonable way to ‘live it up!&#8217; Make a note of it, soda and fries = 2 of the most harmful things you will regularly put in your body, so don&#8217;t do it!</p>
<p>Take a look at the typical difference this simple substitution makes between choosing smart and doing what most people do&#8230;</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s an easy scenario I&#8217;ll lay out for you to help understand the difference between a typical restaurant eater and a healthy one.</p>
<p>Most people will eat meals with:</p>
<p>Burger or sandwich <br />chips or fries<br />soda or other sweetened drink (and no, diet sodas are NOT healthy!)</p>
<p>An easy and MUCH smarter substitution for your body would be:</p>
<p>Burger or Sandwich<br />Salad or veggies<br />Unsweetened iced tea or water (no diet drinks &#8212; unless you like to drink poison!)</p>
<p>These 2 easy substitutions save at least 400 &#8211; 900 calories every time you dine out (depending on refills and portion sizes)&#8230; As well, your cutting out some of the most harmful things to your body that don&#8217;t just effect calories, but healthy living -the evil trans fats and high fructose corn syrup from the fries and soft drinks.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re a die-hard for pasta, rice, and breaded foods there is a way you can get away with eating them at a restaurant without gaining the unhealthy weight (although internally they are still hard on your body). Engaging yourself in a high intensity full body resistance training workout before your meal (1.5 – 3 hrs before) will help you burn calories throughout your meal and increase your metabolism. </p>
<p>If you find it hard to fit in your workout before a restaurant meal, understand they you can replace your post-meal workout with a restaurant meal. You can take advantage of your bodies increased metabolism can handle more carbs than normal to replenish the muscle glycogen depletion from your workout.</p>
<p>But, you must remember that if you do this your workout must be high intensity resistance, not moderate intensity cardio. It must allow your body to use enough muscle glycogen so you can handle the carbs of restaurant foods. </p>
<p>Hopefully these tips help you make an informed healthy decision when eating out! </p>

<p>1 ENDURANCE<br />Endurance is having the strength combined with power to stick it out when times get rough. So, does this sound like you? Do you have what it takes?</p>
<p>A chef career is not like any other job that you may be used to. It’s completely opposite from the typical office where you sit at a desk in front of a computer playing solitaire, shopping online and Instant Messaging every living person you know•I would know! Of course, every job reaches its point where things get stressful and busy, but nothing will compare to the environment of a restaurant.</p>
<p>You must learn how to do things on the job fast, correctly and with a smile on your face. Working weekends and holidays is a must and you will get filthy and sweaty in the process. Your feet and back will hurt. You will get burned, bruised and cut. You will want a break to sit, you will only get about 20 seconds to do so.</p>
<p>Busy days at restaurants will take its toll on your mind and body, so this is why it is extremely important to prepare yourself. Like training or anything, you have to spend hours preparing yourself mentally and physically for the big show. If you haven’t already been incorporating a healthy living, eating and exercise style into your life, I suggest you start TODAY!</p>
<p>2 SPEED &amp; ACCURACY<br />The bottom line to having a successful restaurant or chef career is pleasing the customer. And nothing pleases a customer more than a delicious meal! It’s all about speed and accuracy. People don’t want to wait for their dinner to come out, so a chef must work fast AND be accurate. If things are not done correctly, you will inevitable receive complaints from customers and that will be the end of your chef career. Even though, you can’t please everyone, too many complaints will ultimately result in hurting your chef career.<br />So how does a chef making things run smoothly? Intelligent preparation is the answer, otherwise known as, “Mise en place” in the culinary language. When translated from French, literally means “setting in place.” So before actually cooking begins, the chef will prepare all necessary ingredients and cookware. This includes measuring ingredients and placing them into bowls, cooking equipment, ovens preheated and so on. Once cooking begins, you will realize the importance of preparation, making the cooking process much easier.</p>
<p>3 PATIENCE<br />Having a chef career, you will need to have patience.<br />Things will not go your way in the beginning. There is a chance that you may not reach the level that you originally set out to reach. But that is the reality of the profession. Not every chef gets to the top and star on Food Network. This doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try and become a chef. Strive to be the best chef you can and your chef career will follow.</p>
<p>Don’t let things on the job discourage you or keep you from continuing your goal of having a chef career. Things may not always go to plan; your work won’t always get noticed, you may not get that raise you were hoping for, your co-workers may dislike… it’s all just normal situations that every professional career has. Before you know it, time will pass, things will get better and then you will be on the right path for starting your chef career.</p>
<p>4 SKILLS &amp; TECHNIQUES<br />There is zero reason to wait until getting accepted into a culinary school, or a first job, before you start your chef career. There is an array of cooking books, articles, TV shows, videos•you name it that can help aspiring chefs launch their chef career. So turn on the Food Network and sit, listen, watch and learn. Practice with your own kitchen, learn and use different tools, equipment and ingredients a chef would use. <p> GourmetTrek will start offering weekly, Historical Guided Walking Food and Beverage/Wine Tours through out Tampa Bay, FL on November 7, 2009 at 2:00 P.M.  Participants will learn the history of the area while tasting the cultural impact on the Food. Each Tour will visits  five to seven different Restaurants.</p>

<p>Tours will take place in five different Tampa Bay Area Locations.  Treks in Historical Ybor City, SoHo located in Historical Hyde Park, Channelside/Harbour Island located on Tampa’s downtown water front, downtown Dunedin and downtown Sarasota.</p>

<p>Sample fine Wines and beverages; yummy dishes like old fashion Devil Crabs, fresh fish and more.</p>
